Ex-security director gets fresh detention order

FORMER National Security Council Director Alejandro Garuz, already residing in the El Renacer Prison, has received a second preventive detention order issued against him.
The latest order comes from Third Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Zuleyka Moore during the investigation into irregularities in the purchase of 19 radars from Selex, a subsidiary of the Italian conglomerate Finmeccanica, judicial sources told La Prensa.
His current incarceration is while he awaits trial on charges related to alleged illegal surveillance carried out by the agency during his administration.
