Jailed security boss knew of secret commission

EX-JUSTICE MINISTER Jose Raul Mulino knew of the existence of a commission for contracts with the Italian Conglomerate Finmeccanica, which is why he he didn’t want to make the  documents public in 2011 says a former Comptroller-General.

Alan Weeden  said: “Now we know why the contract remained hidden, as he knew that if he revealed it the bribery and the overpricing would come out ” reports El Siglo.

Carlos Lee, of Citizens Alliance for Justice, said the contract signed by Mulino “undoubtedly’ is surrounded by great  concerns that the people have  long required to be clarified”.

In November 2011, (through a media statement) refused to disclose details of the contracts signed with  Finmeccanica.

‘I will not give away the contracts for the purchase of radars, although they are public, because the technical aspects, for the role they play, cannot be revealed”, said Mulino in the statement.

At that time, he acknowledged that by not disclosing them, he was breaking the law.

Mulino is currently in preventive detention as prosecutor’s believe he is a flight risk and could destroy evidence.

He and CD party supporters claim  “political persecution.”
