Panama ready to aid Colombia-Venezuela dialogue
PANAMA has issued a plea for a peaceful solution to the standoff between Colombia and Venezuela which has led to a closure of the border between the two countries.
Vice President and Foreign Minister Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado sent messages to her counterparts in Colombia, María Ángela Holguín, and Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, that Panama is ready to contribute to a dialogue between the countries.
“It is a very serious issue, mainly for the welfare of those affected,” said Saint Malo de Alvarado.
President Juan Carlos Varela also called on the two countries to solve their issues through dialogue reports LaPrensa
“This is a human tragedy that has caused a great deal of suffering,” he said.
