Another Metro station operational
THE SAN ISIDRO Station of the Panama Metro opened for business at 5:00 am on Saturday, August 15, some 18 months after the previous administration had trumpeted “mission accomplished.”
There was limited ridership on the opening day butMetro officials estimate that it will be used daily by between 15000-20000 users.
It will serve the communities ofTorrijos Carter, Santa Librada, Urracá Valley, Mano de Piedra and even Mayor Diaz, Las Cumbres and Chilibre, and others, who originally used Los Andes station.
Some users have expressed concerns about security because of a long dark alley leading to the platform and have called for increased police sureveillance.
On opening day the station had inspectors from the Transit Authority (ATTT) and Panama Metro police officers.
