Corruption pushing CD members from the party
THE CORRUPTION scandals linked to the Ricardo Martinelli’s government (2009-2014), have resulted in a flood or resignations from the Democratic Change party, founded and run by the former president.
One of the latest to defect is, Marcos Gonzalez, former deputy CD and one time vice-president of the National Assembly, and cheer leader of the decisions of the former president
His decision, he says, is based on the “disappointment” to see the scandals that are involved figures of his party and former members of the last cabinet.
“I’m seeing people whom we asked for support to solve community problems facing legal issues involving millions of dollars running through their hands” he said.

The former deputy arrived at the headquarters of the Electoral Court at 10:10 am on Thursday, June 18 accompanied by a group of supporters who also submitted their resignations to party Martinelli.
“Hundreds have already given up, and more will follow” said the now independent, but he does not plan join the ranks of the Panameñista Party, now in government, but said that in politics nothing can be ruled out.
