Supreme Court prosecutor checks Martinelli assets
AN INVESTIGATION into companies linked to Panama’s former president Ricardo Martinelli took place on Tuesday, May 20 at the Public Registry.
The hearing was conducted by Supreme Court Justice Oydén Ortega, who is acting as prosecutor in the National Assistance Program (PAN) case against Martinelli.
Martinelli’s lawyer, Sidney Sitton, complained that he did not receive a copy of the document that authorized the hearing, which he described as an illegal act.
Ortega was seeking information about companies linked to the former president several of which have surfaced during investigations by anti-corruption prosecutors.
