Anti-corruption prosecutor alerted to $21 million APYME irregularities
ANOTHER government entity has discovered multi-million dollar irregularities since taking over from the previous administrators in the Martinelli era. Lawyers for theAuthority for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Ampyme) have visited the anti-corruption prosecutor, in the Avesa building on Via Espana, to complain about possible irregularities in the conduct of 137 contracts for the purchase of items and equipment and activities performed by the entity.body.
The legal action follows an internal audit, where contact problems were detected.
According to Ampyme, lawyers contracts were split to creep in under the legal direct contract dollar limit.
The legal document states that research is for the last two directors of the Ampyme with the
alleged damage exceeding $ 21 million.
