Murder investigation follows prison death

CHIRIQUÍ prosecutor Betzaida Pitti has started an investigation into the murder of an inmate in the David public jail on Tuesday morning, September 9. José de la Cruz Polanco, who had been an inmate of the prison for only 17 days appears to have been stabbed to death.

Enzo Polo, regional director of the Chiriqui penitentiary system confirmed the incident and reported that allegedly Polanco was injured with a pointed weapon.
