Heavy sanctions for Holy Weekend drunk drivers
WITH 87,000 people heading to the Interior for the Easter weekend, drinking drivers have been warned that they will face immediate sanctions.
Aldo Macre national director of the Traffic Operations Division of the National Police, said on Good Friday afternoon that all drivers who insist on driving under the influence of alcohol will be punished.
Traffic agents were distributed along the American way.
"Everyone today, Good Friday, Holy Saturday morning and Easter Sunday caught driving while intoxicated will have their license taken away for three months and the vehicle will be taken to a corral," he said on RPC Radio. He added that thre sanctions are you covered by Decree No. 640 of the Traffic Operations Division.
