Malls moving to charge for parking
THE COST of shopping for Car owners will be on the rise in Panama in 2014. Following some of the city’s hotels now charging up to $5 for parking when you drop in for a meal of function, malls are moving to do the same.
La Prensa reports that some locations are already charging between two and eight cents a minute, while others are prepare charging systems.
Consumer associations claim the right to park as a service to customers in the stores. However, some employers say that the private sector can charge, as municipalities do in public spaces.
Shopping till you drop is going to become much more expensive.
