Presidency accuses daily of manipulation
THE PRESIDENCY of Panama has responded to a La Prensa investigation about a seabed lease granted to Gabriel Btesh, a businessman with close ties to the government.
In a statement pn Tuesday it accused La Prensa of manipulating information about the deal.
Through a statement, the Presidency said that "the opposition daily, La Prensa, returned with another one of its episodes in its regular practice designed to manipulate and distort the facts in an effort to tarnish the actions of the current administration."
In the document, the Presidency said that La Prensa avoided publishing facts about the lease.
The next installment of the story was scheduled to be published pn Wednesday.
“The second part of the story will focus on the Supreme Court's involvement in the matter, which was not mentioned by the Presidency,” retorted La Prensa.
