Casco Viejo death trap falls on parked cars

RESIDENTS living near the Metropolitan Cathedral in Casco Viejo, one of Panama’s Historical Heritage sites got a breakfast wake up on Wednesday November 7.

A loud bang alerted the community to the collapse of part of the structure of a condemned house close to the cathedral. It also reinforced to owners of cars parked in the area, the old city parking problems.

Residents say the dilapidated buildings are "death traps" for pedestrians and school children passing through the area.
This time there were no deaths or injuries, but several vehicles parked in the area were damaged by falling masonry and beams.
