5.5 Earthquake hits Chiriqui and Bocas

AN EARTHQUAKE measuring 5.5 degrees on the Richter scale shook areas of Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro on Sunday morning, October 27.

The civil defense agency Sinaproc, says the tremor was recorded at 10:41 am.
The director of the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama, sid that the quake was located four kilometers south of Boquete.
The quake, which had a depth of 44.6 kilometres, lasted for about 20 seconds.
No damage was reported.
