MEMBERS of Panama’s Hindustan community were joined by Muslim and Chinese organizations on Saturday October 26 in marches to demand justice in the shooting of two Indian children in San Carlos on Wednesday.
Manish Ehakada, secretary general of the Indostana Society of Panama, who organized march from Plaza Cinco de Mayo, to the presidential palace Ehakada said that other events were being held in Chitre, Santiago and San Carlos.
Indostana member Lal Dayaldas Chatlani Mayani, said that the group is seeking answers about the incident, in which officers fired into a vehicle at a checkpount, killing two children, a two year-old boy and a 15-year-old girls.
"Stop playing with so many lies through various versions," he said.
Chatlani Mayani said he was also in favor of the repeal of the law which exempts police officers from pre-trial detention in criminal cases.
"We are asking for the repeal of an evil law which does not benefit the community," he said.
