Varela says social improvements claimed by CD were his

TWO PROGRAMS touted by the Democratic Change Party (CD) as improving the lives of Panamanians were in fact the initiatives of the Panameñista presidential candidate. Juan Carlos Varela.

He made the point on Sunday, September 29 when addressing party faithful who had turned out in force (42%) for the primaries in spite of torrential downpours for a large part of the day

He emphasized that urbanization programs Curundú and the " 100 to 70 " were his initiative , and were the basis of his social program campaign duting the two years of the Panameñista-CD coalition. He stressed that the Curundú universal fellowship and the "100 to 70" programs have improved the lives of Panamanians.
Varela said that Martinelli and Arias management have failed because not all share in the economic growth experienced by the country.
He said that not enough has been achieved and for further progress “We need to put people above politics.”
