Canada culinary competition

DOUGLAS PACHECO was named the winner of the  Canadian cuisine competition, part of the week of culinary celebrations leading up to Canada Day.

The competition was held at the Panama International Hotel School, and challenged student chefs to create original dishes with Canadian ingredients. 

The announcement was made at a June 27 reception at the Miramar Intercontinental Hotel, marking an early celebration of Canada Day and the introduction of a special Canadian dinner menu being offered at the Miramar Bay view restaurant. It will be available to the public until Sunday, June 30.
Many ambassadors, Canadians, and Panama celebrities were in attendance in the Miramar Grand Ballroom to hear the announcement and to hear the Canadian national anthem, O Canada, in English and French and the Panamanian national anthem performed by a children’s choir from the French Lycee in Panama Pacifico.
