Health care workers unite to fight government
Doctors, nurses, professionals and health technicians have formed a united front to fight government policies.
Domingo Moreno, coordinator of the National Medical Negotiating Commission said the alliance is opposed to government policies that prevent health workers from striking or demonstrating, particularly when they are trying to raise awareness of potential health problems.
They are also opposed to the privatization of the system, where only those who have purchasing power can obtain quality medical care.
They are also opposed to the recruitment of foreign medical personnel and attempts by the Ministry of Health to limit the power of the boards that currently run many health centers and hospitals.
The coalition is currently meeting to discuss an action plan.
