Martinelli appoinments fast tracked

IT TOOK the 15 the Credentials Committee of the National Assembly just 15 minutes to ratify four presidential appointments to key posts that will keep them in office until 2020.

On Tuesday, May 28, Luis Cucalón, Abigail Benzadón, Zelmar Vernaza and Carmen Bernardez Rodriguez  got the five votes of the ruling CD bloc. During the session of the Commission, Benzadón was not present. She will continue as manager of the new Authority Transparency and Access to Public Information, Also missing was Bernárdez Vernaza, who will head the new Authority Panama Passport.

Cucalón will continue for seven years in the new National Revenue Authority of Panama, and Rodriguez, will remain in his post as administrator of the National Authority of Public Services.
The ratifications were sent by the Commission to the plenary of the National Assembly.
