10,000 registered for Melting Pot fair to legalize status

AT LEAST  10,000 foreigners living in Panama have registered to regularize their immigration status during the 11th fair that starts Monday May 27

The event, titled "Melting Pot," will be held at the Roberto Durán Arena until June 3.

All foreigners who have resided in Panama for more than one year are invited.Appointments must be made via the internet to lreduce waiting times.

The government established the fairs to enable foreigners to obtain legal residence and work permits. This will allow them to pay taxes and make contributions to Social Security.

There have been 30,513 foreigners who have regularized their status at previous events.
