Medical Commission claims government negotiators stalling

THE ATTITUDE of the public health administrators is leading to a confrontation says says the National Negotiating Medical Commission (Comenenal).

Fernando Castañeda a Comenenal negotiator, told La Prensa late on Sunday, May 19, that the heads of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Social Security Fund (CSS) have not understood that you should invest in public health.
That includes, in addition to infrastructure input and improved quality of life for their employees, he said.
He said that "it is possible that they want workers receive lower increases than those received from previous governments" regardless of the current cpst of living.
He said that the unions have been willing to dialogue and negotiat, making proposals repeatedly. However, the government has exposed its "administrative failure" and irresponsibility towards the talks, he said.
He also accused the directors of the MoH and CSS of bringing delaying tactics to the negotiations. All these situations, he said, will force the administrative workers to take actions that will unfortunately lead to direct confrontation.
