Martinelli lunches with former Panameista president

RUMORS swirled on the political chit chat circuit on Friday May 17, when former Panameñista president Mireya Moscoso appeared at lunch with President Ricardo Martinelli

They were accompanied by  government deputy José Muñoz and the government spin chief, Luis Eduardo Camacho.

When he left the restaurant Martinelli said he spoke with Moscoso on "all issues".
"Former president Mireya has always given me good advice and it's always good to talk about national issues with someone who has already had the experience of being president," said Martinelli.
But Moscoso scotched talk of her jumping ship during the upcoming elections when she told media that she will support the Panameñista Party,
“There are many candidates in my party" she said, avoiding talking directly of Panameñista presidential candidate Juan Carlos Varela with whom she has strained relations. She said that there are at least 2000 Panameñistas waiting to be called by Varela, with a view to the 2014 elections reports La Prensa.
Moscoso said she will remain with her party. "I've always been Panameñista and I will die the same," she said.
PLANE SCANDAL
Martinelli also declined to talk about the controversy surrounding his counterpart, Costa Rican President, Laura Chinchilla over the use of a private plane.
Chinchilla, faces a political storm for using the 'plane of shame', facilitated by a foreign company linked to a relative of Colombian drug trafficker “Chupeta”.
