ELECTION ROUTE: A musician without his own songs
CD PRESIDENTIAL candidate José Domingo Arias is a musician without his own songs and is not a viable option says Panameñista candidate Juan Carlos Varela.
"I don't see the government candidate as an option," said Varela on Wednesday May 15. "I do not think this is the way in which President Ricardo Martinelli wanted it to be handled."
Varela said that Arias does not have a plan or a vision for the government and refered to him as a "transitional candidate."
He said the race will likely come down to the PRD and Panameñista parties.
Varela referred to the victory speech given on Sunday by Arias, saying he "is a musician without his own songs" owing to the fact that "he thanked the president 14 times.
"It is clear that he reports to a person and not a country."
