Misappropriation complaint launched against CD deputies

The legal front of the Partido Revolucionario Democrático (PRD) filed a complaint on Wednesday April 3 against several members of the Cambio Democrático (CD) for the misappropriation of state funds.

The complaint was filed by Omar Granado, Roberto Pinzón and Edgar Zacrisson, who argued that CD party members used funds from the National Assistance Program to benefit themselves and to help them be re-elected in 2014.
The complaint names legislators Nelson Jackson, Miguel Fanovica, Heriberto "Yunito" Vega and Abraham Martínez. Lawyers for the opposition party have said they trust the process to punish any crimes that have been committed.
La Prensa said in an article earlier in the day that both Jackson and Martinez bought expensive apartments after enrolling in the CD..
