Holy Friday marked with dramatizations and processions

Panama’s Catholics commemorated Holy Friday, as in previous years, with dramatizations and processions throughout the day and evening, to tell the story of the passion of Christ.

In the Basilica Don Bosco, Divine Mercy and the ruins of Panama Viejo, theatrical performance termed as "Christ's Passion Live" a dramatization of Christ's journey with Cross and his crucifixion and death.

The scenes are narrated by young adults

who spend months practicing for the role they will play in the drama.

At night, across the city thousands walked in multiple processions of the Holy Sepulcher, with plaques telling the story of the stations of the cross, and children in  costume representing soldiers, mourners an other characters associated with the crucifixion.
