Martinelli Twitters end to expropriation bill

A bill to allow the government to expropriate unproductive land that did not meet its "social function" was stopped in its tracks after a Twitter message by President Ricardo Martinelli.

The bill was removed from the legislative agenda on Monday, February 4 by its proponent, Deputy Hernan Delgado Quintero, Democratic Change.
Martinelli, said through his Twitter account: "The executive did not know of or approve Bill 102 on expropriations. That is the initiative of a Member. That's not going.”
