Coronado gets top billing from US travel mag.

Coronado, a little more than an hour’s drive from Panama City has been given top billing as a 2013 retirement destination  by the trade publication Live and Invest Overseas.
In her article, Kathleen Peddicord, who for 25 years has written about the world’s leading retirement havens, says that in Panama the best place for retirees is Coronado, one of the first areas in the interior of the country opened to tourism.
Besides being a beach community, oronado's closeness to the capital city , makes the site a favorite for American retirees.

Coronado has been mired in controversy recently as owner Roberto (Bobby) Eisenmann battles government auditors.
Peddicord also highlights the attractions of the country's financial center, and the circulation of the dollar.
According to the publication, in Panama the tax system and the affordable cost of living make U.S. retirees increasingly ready to settle in the country.
It also gives a positive rating to the legal system that provides facilities for retired people to make investments in the country, and to its hospitals.
Panama beat destinations such as France, Ecuador and Thailand which were also recommended by as places to retire this year.
The Condé Nast specialized travel magazine also chose Panama as the number one destination to visit in 2013.
