Panama Tourism increases share of GDP
Tourism in Panama has increased its contribution to the GDP by 10 percent and around 2.2 million people will have visited the isthmus by year end.
Tourism manager Salomon Shamah made the announcement on Friday, December 7, stressing that tourism in the country has registered an increase of 10% compared to last year, when it achieved its goal of reaching 2 million, “something we had planned for 2014," he added.
He was speaking at the close of the Panama-EU forum organized by the Foundation Euroamérica, during which delegates discussed the development of logistical economic, financial and political ties between Panama and the European Union.
