Twice acquitted lawyer faces new charges in land grab scandals

After two acquittals in cases  alleging against  the public and the environment, Anabelle Villamonte, the former Anati (Land management) director is still not of the hook.

The Public Ministry (MP is pressing  charges for crime against the public trust for the alleged free titling of  over 9,000 square meters  in Punta Chame.

 Sources close to the process said the MP's decision was based on the signature of  the ex-functionary  appearing  on  documents in which the sale of the lands was, expedited for  the company Puntabeach Interprises, SA

 Villamonte has been  notified of the injunction granted by the Attorney General.  

In addition to Villamonte, the same charges were laid on three others including, Jose Calderon who has possesion rights to the land. The names of the other two defendants were not disclosed.

Ayu Prado began an official investigation on August 3, after La Prensa  published a series of reports revealing  that only four months after its creation, the company Puntabeach Enterprises, SA  benefited with free certification of the lands by Villamonte..

According to research, the lawyer representing Puntabeach Enterprises, SA was Marcelino Ramos Madrid

Ramos Madrid was the person who replaced Villamonte as the  Papadimitriu family lawyer, in the case of Juan Hombrón land grabs  in the province of Cocle, which led to charges against Villamonte

The former director of Certification was previously acquitted of the charges by nthe  Third Criminal Court, for the allocation of land in Paitilla, in the capital city, and in Juan Hombrón
