Gladiator throws a late wild punch
Timing is everything and “The gladiators” a group created by the Cambio Democrático (CD) to defend the policies of President Ricardo Martinelli, chose Thursday October 25 as their D Day,
Group member Rafael Cozarreli, briefed by Martinelli’s media spokesman, went on air to defend that controversial law that allows the sale of land in the Colón Free Zone.
"Political antagonists have wanted to harm the law by mere confrontation," Cozarelli said and added that the law would benefit Colón by boosting international trade and social projects. But while he was talking, in the back rooms of the Assembly plans were under way to shelve the law.
Constitutionalist lawyer Miguel Antonio Bernal had commented that the National Assembly, which had stayed on the sideline during the controversy, was acting "aimlessly" and the current role of the legislators seemed to be to do the bidding of the president.Gladiator throws a wild punch
