Panama’s Olympic heroes
They may not come home with a bunch of medals but to have qualified to participate in the world’s biggest sporting event is an achievement in itself and is the result of years of training dedication and financial self sacrifice.
Most of us would be proud to say; “I competed in the Olympics,” but few are ready to pay the price.
Panamas competitors are swimmers, Edgar Crespo, and Diego Castillos; Omar Simmods, judoka, Carolena Carstens, taekwondo, boxer Juan Huertas, and athletics contestants Andrea Ferris, Alonso Edward and Irving Saladino.
