Papadimitriu family company go to court to protect titling claim

Two companies  belonging to the the parents of the Minister of the Presidency, Demetrio Papadimitriu, are heading for the courts over land they acquired in Juan Hombrón.

Hedecor Trapp Real Estate and Hedecorp Group, which lawyer Luis Fonseca identified on  December 20, 2011, as belonging to the Papadimitriu family made the move after learning that there are others who are making claims on the same land

The companies announced that they would defend "our real rights…”

Fishermen in the area have petitioned the Attorney General's Office to recognized the right of access to the controversial 54 hectares of beach, based on the recent ruling of dismissal of Judge Adolfo Mejia.

"Mr. Papadimitriu [the Minister of the Presidency] paid for the land, they are not stolen … we put them on sale and he bought them, "said Raul Mata, spokesman for the fishermen who claimed to have possessory rights that allowed Anabelle Villamonte to sell the land.

The fishermen were received by the Undersecretary of Public Prosecutions and requested an appointment with the prosecutor, Jose Ayu Prado.

An investigation by La Prensa revealed that Villamonte, who worked in a family business owned by Papadimitriu-approved the acquisition of 54 acres free of charge, to be divided into parcels smaller than five hectares.

The investigation also revealed that the real owners of the original societies, as well as those to which the lands were transferred are the Papadimitriu family. The Hedecor Group and Trapp Real Estate argues that they"bought in good faith from others …".

On Monday June 25 it was reported that the resolutions of Anati cancelling of the titles are no yet effective because of unresloved issues.
