Panama takes one more step towards soccer dream

Panama’s dream of going to it’s first World Cup  inched forward on Tuesday night, June 12 with a 1-0 victory over Cuba at the Rommel Fernandez stadium.

The win, before over 20,000 cheering fans, follows  their  2-0 defeat of Honduras on Friday June 8. The teams are in Group C with Canada which had a goaless draw with Hondura on the same night. Panama sits atop the Group C table and will meet Canada,  in second place, in September.

The World Cup will be played in Brazil in 2014.
