Firing threats over Social Security strike call worker leaders

Leaders of Panama’s Social Security workers say they have been threatened dismissal over their call for a country wide strike on Monday, May 14

Rodrigo Soto, secretary general of the Manual Workers Social Security Fund, said Saturday that  his call for a general strike in the state has  led ton threats  of  investigations, accusations and dismissals for workers' leaders. He added that on Tuesday, May 8,  he will go to the Ombudsman to complain about the threats by the administration Priscilla Vasquez, spokeswoman for the National Association of  Social Security,Workers said that the aurhorities are violating  the right to strike and to have union representation and she filed a complaint with the International Labour Organization,(ILO) but the CSS continued to violate those rights. "There have been particular harassments  against Soto and myself" and "we have been threatened with dismissal,"
