Deadly forest devastation in Panama
In the first eleven years of this century an average of 13,000 thousand hectares of forest have been devastated in Panama Panama.
That represents the loss from 2000 to 2011 of 1560 square kilometers of forest, almost the size of the province of Herrera that is 2,000 square kilometers.
Environmentalists are asking the National Environmental Authority reform the forestry law, to prevent the extinction of endangered species like the cocobolo tree.
