Gas explosion evacuees back home
Owners and tenants, from PH White on Avenida Balboa have been allowed to return to the building.
They were evacuated following an early morning explosion on Friday, April 20. The Fire Service Security, Prevention and Investigation Director, Carlos Rodriguez Rodriguez allowed people to return after inspections of the security systems of the building.
The gas distribution system in the building had been disabled during the investigation. What had happened was due to a gas leak in the laundry area of an apartment on the 27th floor.
The Fire Department said that although the incident was similar to what happened on January 25 on the 21st floor of the same building, this situation had no connection with the other.
In the earlier explosion one person was killed and two injured, one seriously when a gas water heater was being installed.
The tenants of the apartments where the latest explosion occurred, said they had complained about a gas smell three days before.
