New top US military brass visit Panama

Eighteen senior officers recently promoted and representing the  US Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard arrived in Panama Tuesday for a three day visit

The officers are part of the CAPSTONE program of the National Defense University in Washington, DC.

The trip is the culmination of their studies and Panama is the last stop on their   tour of the Western Hemisphere. Before their arrival in Panama, the group visited Mexico and Peru, and are accompanied by Admiral of the Navy (R) Henry Chiles.

During the visit, the officers ea attending  briefings at the U.S. Embassy and visit the SENAN, SENAFRONT, the Panama Canal and the area of expansion, as well as the Corozal American Cemetery.

Capstone is an intensive five-week course consisting of seminars, case studies, discussions informal visits to major U.S. military commanders in the United States and foreign travel to Europe, the Pacific, Southwest Asia and the Western Hemisphere.

 Trips abroad include meetings with military personnel, U.S. ambassadors, embassy staff, political leaders and military officials of foreign governments.
