A tuneful start to the New Year with Opera Panama

2012 promises to be a good year for Opera fans, and those who would like to be.

 

The Panama Opera Foundation under the skilled direction of Irena Sylya, will be producing an expanded program this year, and we will keep you up to date in the What’s On section of Newsroom..

For those who think they may not yet be ready for a full opera performance there will be a number of events where they will be able to assess the musical talent of a growing group  of talented Panamanian singers, while welcoming performers from other countries.

The first of these will be at the Los Mandarinos Boutique Spa and Hotel in El Valle on Friday January 13 which will give you an opportunity to explore or revisit this popular tourist area, and if you plan to stay over, enjoy they hot springs, visit the zoo, try out some of the fine local restaurants and if you hang on, until Sunday the popular market with handcrafted food and souvenirs  will be open.

But your prime reason for going will be to hear the outstanding singers including Mexican tenor Mauricio Trejo winner of the  Enrico Caruso competition in New York. He will be joined by He will be joined by alsury Rodriquez, Moises Guevera, Elisa Troesche , Graciela Seavedoa and Alfonso Baysa and they will be accompanied by Martin Yazdik.
