Dengue death toll continues to rise

The number of deaths from  hemorrhagic dengue  in Panama continues to rise. The latest victim  was a woman from Herrera, bringing the total this year to 10, nearing double the number recorded in the previous 18 years

So far this year  1,780 caes of classic dengue  and  20 hemorragic cases have been identified.

All this in spite of ongoing spraying operations especially in areas where mosquito infestation  is recording  high levels, and  the fining of individuals and businesses that continue to allow breeding sites.
