Power and communications blackout in Darien

Communities in the province of Darien were without electricity and telecommunications  systems for at least eight hours starting at  9.30 a.m. on Sunday May 29.

The problem had not been solved after eight hours . The power outage  was because maintenance was  being performed by  SIGS the  generating company  that provides power tp Ensa, the distributor. The maintenance work was supposed to have been completed in 5 hours. This led to  problems at the base stations for telecommunications provided by Cable and Wireless and Cable Onda.
Areas affected  included Ipetí Colonus, Yaviza, Agua Fria, Sansonsito,Tortí and Santa Fe. 

According to Ensa, the service will be restored when generating Sigs confirms is has  finished with their work at the plant.
