A new slant on Christmas giving in Boquete

Out and About

If you have been trying to email the organizers of the annual grand fiesta for charity in Boquete, and haven’t been got a response, don’t blame the hard working organizers.

The email address for Bid 4 Boquete has been compromised . . .  maybe even sabotaged. They have a new address: bid4boquete@gmail.com

If you wish to participate you can still go to the group’s website at www.bid4boquete.com and their photo albums to check out items you might want to to bid on. Hurry, because the event is fast approaching, and this might be the time to combine Christmas shopping with helping the less fortunate in the community.
Every year since 2007, the ExPat community in Boquete Has joined with the local Panamanian community to organize an annual charity auction to benefit four grass roots organizations to help improve the lives of the less fortunate members of society.
In the first three years the event raised $42,000.
This year the project has grown and is being run by an outstanding trio: Bonnie Williams, Martine Heyer and Penny Barrett, who have expanded the event from one to two days, and expect to raise as much this year as in the previous three years combined.
An elegant wine tasting with hors d’oeuvres and live music by Rich Cacianti will kick off the event on December 4 followed by a live auction at the new BCP Theater & Events Center just over the new bridge in downtown Boquete.
The Wine Tasting starts at 5:00 pm.. The Live Auction follows at 7:00 pm and there is a $5 admission at the door. Tickets go on sale at Mail Boxes Etc. next Monday, November 15. The $20 which includes admission to the Live Auction Tickets will also be available at the Tuesday Market starting November 16.
