Ex-justice minister facing murder charges getsto exit country for10 days

Panama’s former Government and Justice minister, Daniel Delgado Diamente under a homicide investigation, left the country Saturday (September 11) for a military event in El Salvador.

Accused of the murder of a soldier under his command while serving in the National Guard under the military dictatorship, the court gave him permission to leave the country for 10 days. He is due back on September 20.
Maritza Maestre, a member of the Committee of Relatives of “disappeared” Hector Gallego, said this was a clear example that there is protection for the military
"It’s amazing how a judicial body can give a person accused of murder a permit to leave the country, when is there any allegation of this kind," he said.

"There’s an elite that enjoys privileges of justice, something that is seen daily in the court rulings,"
