Data lost for hundreds of ID cards
Bad news for Between 300 and 500 people from across the country who have gone through the procedures of obtaining a cedula.
The unfortunates will be forced to undergo – for the second time – the procedures for obtaining a Panamanian cedula essential for living in the country on an ongoing basis.
This, after the office that issues the identity cards lost their information.
The news was confirmed on Tuesday by the national director of the center Luis Bermúdez.
"The card simply does not come out correctly and does not pass the established quality control measures, said the official on TV Telemetro Reporta.
The National Directorate for the Issuance of Cedulas has been able to identify the people whose information was lost, and is in the process of contacting them to pass on the news of the next time consuming procedure.
According to the department records, the institution has issued approximately 80,000 cedulas in recent months. Just pray you were part of the lucky majority.
