US Ambassador promoted to London

Barbara Stephenson, the popular US ambassador to Panama will make a big upward career move when she lives her La Cresta residence after this year’s July 4 celebrations.

She has been promoted to Deputy Chief of Mission in the UK, the most senior ambassadorial location for the United States. The American Ambassdor to the UK is usually a political appointment. The day to day operation of the Embassy is in the hands of the Deputy Chief of Mission in Grosvenor Square.
Barbara Sephenson is a career diplomat who returned to Panama with her family nearly two years ago. She had first worked in the Embassy on Avenida Balboa 20 years before during the tumultuous post Dictatorship years.
Her life time hobby has been rowing and canoeing. She will have lots of opportunity in Britain
