Three police lieutenants arrested in drug raid
Thursday by the Drug Prosecutor’s Office together with the National Police in the provinces of Panama and Colon, in residences that were used as drug storage coves.
The Minister of Security, Juan M. Pino, confirmed that the three lieutenants of the National Police, from the province of Colón, were linked the group dedicated to international drug trafficking.
He added that they were low-ranking officers who were about to finish their police careers, but now they must face justice.
This criminal group is linked to the storage and custody of illicit substances, using ports in both provinces as operating areas.
The Drug Prosecutor’s Office began the investigation on December 13, 2017, when it was revealed that this criminal group was engaged in international drug trafficking.
