The suspension of operations at Tocumen and Panama Pacifico airports was followed by totally flooded streets, falling trees, and roofs, landslides, overflowing rivers, walls on the verge of collapse, and even floating vehicles,  caused by the strong rainstorm that hit the national territory Sunday night and early Monday, June 5.

Carlos Rumbo, director of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) said that so far the balance shows more than 100 homes affected by structural damage, flooding, falling roofs, and falling trees in the sectors of San Miguelito, Panamá Oeste, Río Abajo. , Parque Lefreve, Tocumen and 24 de Diciembre.

Rescue teams from Sinaproc and the Joint Task Force were immediately activated to bring humanitarian assistance to these sectors, where just over 400 people were affected, including 22 with some type of disability
