Last-minute deal voids Copa pilots’ strike
Representatives of the Panama airline Pilots Union (Unpac) and Copa Airlines have signed an agreement that annuls the strike declaration by 1,200 Copa pilots scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 2reports the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel), which acted as facilitator of the negotiations that have been ongoing since November 25.
The new collective agreement will be in force until 2026.
This agreement “strengthens relations between the parties and promotes the climate of labor peace that the country needs for its economic recovery,” said a Mitradel statement.
