Panama hit with over 3000 new coronavirus cases in a week
With over 3000 new cases of coronavirus in a week Panama has reached a total of 17,233 infections with 403 deaths since the coronavirus pandemic arrived

Between Wednesday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 9, The Health Ministry registered 3,138 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, a situation that raised red flags for the authorities, with 455 hospitalized patients of which 90 are in intensive care.
According to the daily report provided by the Minsa,by Wednesday, the number was up 3, 514 cases with, an average of more than 350 per day confirmed. The highest figure was on Saturday, June 6 with 541. The lowest was Tuesday, June 9 with 379, of those, 257 are in the province of Panama and 32 in the province of Panama West.
But the provinces that showed an upturn in cases within 24 hours were Bocas del Toro with 48 and Chiriquí with 44.
