Air Europa flying with 90% occupancy
The recovery of flights and routes between Spain and Latin America, after the pandemic, has been rapid for Air Europa, which registers 90% occupancy on flights says Diego García, Manager for the region.
He said they have recovered all the destinations they had in the region before the health crisis when they were forced to suspend operations.
“Madrid and Barcelona are the number one destinations for Latino travel search engines. In addition, trips have increased not only for tourism but also to study in Europe and do business”.
García maintained that they have 22 destinations to and from the region, that is, 100% of those that operated in 2019 and are only waiting to receive new planes in 2024 to expand the routes between Spain and Latin America.
He said that in Panama they reach up to now five flights a week and the intention is to increase it to the extent that they have more seat capacity by having a greater availability of planes.
“The Panamanian market does not stop growing and surprising us with 90% occupancy of all flights,” said García, noting that now with the presentation of the joint credit card between the airline, Banesco, and Mastercard, they hope that more people will opt for this tool to accumulate miles from Air Europa’s SUMA plan.
He specified that with the alliance with Copa Airlines they are also connecting with all of Central America.
In the first half of this year they transported 1.2 million passengers to and from the region in different destinations. “It has been a very strong recovery, not only with Europeans coming to the region but also Latin Americans going to Europe.”
