Covid cases at 61,442 with 28 deaths
A total of 1,146 new COVID-19 cases and 28 deaths were confirmed on Monday, July 27 bringing total of infections to 61,442 and confirmed deaths to 1,332.
On Monday date, 3,465 tests were applied, with a positivity rate of 33%.
Active cases total 25,034 with 22,898 in-home isolation and 726 in hotels. There are 1,410 hospitalized patients, 1,255 are in the ward and 155 in the ICU.
The epidemiological report of COVID-19, on Sunday, July 26, revealed that the Ministry of Health passed 4,000 tests in one day for the first time. According to the report, 4,308 COVID-19 tests were applied with a positivity rate of 33%.
Specialists in the field have said that Panama must apply at least 4,000 tests daily to achieve traceability and stop the virus from spreading. To date, 211,373 tests have been carried out in Panama, of which 147,217 (69.6%) have been negative and 64,156 (30.4%) positive.
