The National Charity Lottery warns of Counterfeit.

The National Charity Lottery (LNB) warned the public about the existence of counterfeit lottery operations, unauthorized social media accounts, online digital scams, websites, and applications that are using its name and institutional image without authorization to promote alleged casinos, bonuses, prizes, and economic benefits.

In a statement LNB clarified that these platforms are not official and do not have the relevant legal authorizations.  Furthermore, the public is urged not to download these applications, not to click on suspicious links, not to share personal or banking information, and not to make payments or transfers through these means.

Those who detect this type of scam can file a complaint by calling 311.

In a related story from 2025, authorities investigated and filed criminal complaints over irregular and fraudulent distribution of official lottery books. Over 294 fraudulent lottery books were identified across Chiriquí, Veraguas, and Panama City.  Each individual book held a commercial value exceeding $2,000.  The Public Ministry investigation led to administrative audits and the temporary suspension of vendor books throughout Chiriquí.
